The rooms were spacious and clean, and the manager served tasty, homely food. The staff member was very attentive and did all he could to make guests comfortable. We stayed for two nights and had a pleasant time. Getting there can be a bit of a challenge, and the hotel entrance is up a staircase, which may be uncomfortable for older people. The lift wasn’t working during our visit.

Getting to the hotel takes some care: the roads are narrow and steep. We managed with a tourister and a very experienced driver. There’s also a short flight of stairs to the hotel’s first level before you can use the lift. The place is near the market and city center, and seems fairly new, with clean, cozy, functional rooms. Staff were exceptionally cordial, really polite, and did their best to help. I liked the food too. Electricity and water can be a bit unreliable, though that seems to affect hotels throughout the region. I recommend it.

Just a short walk from BHAGSUNAG TEMPLE, this hotel is a good place to stay at DHARAMSHALA in Mc Leod Gunj. The Dhauladhar Mountain Range views are excellent, and hospitality is excellent too. It has an elevator, spacious rooms with good views, and an in-house restaurant serving good-quality, hygienic food.

My Booking.com reservation was for RC Residency, but when we arrived, they put us in a different property nearby called Kumar Residency. It looked nothing like the pictures on the site, and the facilities and service were extremely poor. The room was tiny, the sheets were yellow and disgusting, they provided no towels, and water was leaking from the taps and flush.

RC residency stopped its tie-up six months ago, but OYO is still taking bookings and payment. We weren’t allowed to check in, and nobody took care of resolving the problem. OYO is a cheating company. Don’t book any hotel through OYO.
