J&B Homestay

The location worked well for us, especially if arriving by train or plane. It’s close to the airport and railway station, yet away from the town’s traffic, so the area is calm and quiet. The owner was friendly, Usha Aunty’s home-cooked food was delicious, and the hospitality was very good. They welcomed us with a traditional Assam gamocha. The ambience was lovely too. I did feel the washroom could have been cleaner, and the rooms should be swept daily during a stay, which wasn’t done. Otherwise, everything was good.

JB Homestay is a peaceful, homely place in Dibrugarh, and I’d recommend it. It’s only a short walk from the railway station, which made getting in and out very easy. The warm hospitality made the visit special. Usha didi’s home-cooked meals were amazing, full of that comforting feeling of food made with love. Her cooking alone would bring me back.

The owner was friendly and the room was just okay, but the blanket smelled really bad, so we went without one for two days. Room service wasn’t good either. We tried reaching them twice, but there was no cook.

Aunty’s home cooking was the highlight, and I’m glad we ate at the homestay instead of going out in the scorching summer heat. It felt homely, with good food. We had a wonderful experience overall. The room was spacious, clean, and had AC, though the non-AC room was a bit small and stuffy.
