The food was delicious and felt homely, and it was served with real care. Set among beautiful mountains beside a peaceful river, this resort in Aathoor made a lovely getaway. The calm surroundings and natural beauty made the stay one I won’t forget.

The rooms aren’t anything special and the toilets are just okay, so it’s really the setting that makes this place worthwhile. There’s a lovely mountain and lake view, clean air among lush green trees, and birds singing. The new roads make getting here by car or bike no big deal, though it’s far from town, with no nearby shops or network signal. It’s a good place to spend 2-3 days. If you’re traveling alone, bring a couple of exciting novels and enjoy reading, eating, sleeping, and being in nature. Groups can chat, trade silly stories and gossip, or play indoor and outdoor games. Families, especially with kids, may have a tougher time because they could get bored without TV, internet, a play area, or other amenities.
