Hotel Kodai International

The food spread was the highlight for me, and the staff were polite and well mannered. There’s a landscaped garden and plenty of greenery, and the property is well kept. It has a vintage look, with a temple within the grounds, plus an Ayurvedic spa, a play area, and a few sports facilities for children. The rooms are clean, though the older interiors don’t have the bright, modern feel you’d find in business hotels. It’s a small resort that meets the expectations of a three-star hotel, and a nice, reasonably priced place for a vacation.

Our two-year-old had plenty of open space to walk around and explore safely, which made this feel like a relaxing, family-friendly stay. The garden and play area were lovely, and the surroundings near the rooms felt peaceful. We also found the rooms clean, spacious, and well equipped, and the buffet was delicious with enough menu choices to keep us satisfied. We came as a couple with our child and had a wonderful time at Hotel Kodai International. The main downside is that major attractions are some distance away, and shops aren’t within walking distance. Even so, the comfort and spacious feel made us happy to stay here, and we’d gladly come back.

The play area was good, and the location in the city centre made it easy to get around. Breakfast and dinner were complimentary, and the food itself was really good. But if you’re travelling with small children or older people and ask to have those meals sent to the room, they charge extra. Room service was poor, and we had to call repeatedly. The washrooms weren’t well maintained, and no towels were provided. I stayed two weekday nights for my child’s birthday. The luxury room felt very small for the price, and the balcony was too small to sit and talk. For what we paid, I wouldn’t say it was worth it.

The road leading in is a bit narrow, though there’s plenty of parking both inside and out. The lawn and firewood area were nice, and there’s more to explore. We spent two days here for a conference, and it worked really well. The food was wonderful and tasted authentic. We found the vegetarian dishes even tastier and more divine than the non-veg ones. I’d recommend it for business meetings and family get-togethers.
