The Xanadu Meghadootam

The food was freshly prepared to order and delicious, and the staff were courteous, provided outstanding service, and accommodated all our requests. Our spacious, well-organised room had a homely feel. With its picturesque setting and magnificent valley views, this place felt like a hidden gem. Thanks to the staff and management for making the stay memorable.

The house is reached by a steep slope, so keep that in mind. We had a peaceful, idyllic stay in Kodaikanal, with attentive service, a tasty breakfast, and clean rooms. During our December visit the rooms were very cold and needed a lot more heating. Apart from that, it’s a great option.

The garden is full of different plants, and it’s a lovely place to sit in the sun. Staff hospitality and the chef’s cooking add a lot to this quaint stay. Xanadu Meghadhootam makes an elegant backdrop for enjoying time with loved ones. I hope to return soon and discover more of the place’s little quirks, which seem to settle into our memories with each visit.

We were a family of four, two adults and two kids, and reservations suggested we book the “family suite.” The property is in a gated community, but the views are great, and the staff, service, and breakfast were very good. What they call a family suite is the villa’s two upstairs bedrooms with a shared bathroom and no private balcony. The downstairs area and veranda are shared. If nobody is staying downstairs, you get better value, but at this price the “family suite” doesn’t really qualify as a suite. We stayed three nights at Xanadu Meghadootham.
