The parking is limited because the property is on a narrow lane. I came by bike, so I managed. Hot water is only available from 7:30AM to 9:30AM. There was a motor and heater problem during my visit, but it was fixed within an hour. I booked a single occupancy room online for 750rs, specifically checking that it had hot water, but at check-in they offered me a room without an attached toilet. I paid more for one with an attached toilet, then had a hot water issue the next morning. Seems suitable for bachelors.

The cottage photos looked good, so we booked quickly for 29 December 17. When we arrived on 29 December, the cottage was very different from the pictures and far from town, with no mobile network. They only said sorry. Since I was there with my family and small kids, I had no other option that night. The next morning I went into town and booked a hotel. At checkout, they started arguing with me over 18% GST. I was exhausted. Please don’t book holidays through them, or at least don’t pay in advance.

The place was fully booked despite my online confirmation. The owner said he had a place next door and sent me to somewhere 2km out of town. When I refused to stay there, he pressured me to pay for the taxi and got increasingly aggressive. A very unpleasant experience. Stay away and save your holiday.

Padayapa residency is right in the heart of Kodaikanal. The rooms were tidy and the service was good. A suitable option for budget travellers.

Close to the Bus Stand, with inexpensive, homely rooms. The staff were polite and the hospitality was nice throughout our stay.
