We had a horrible stay in rooms 1013 and 1014 at Zacs valley. The staff were friendly and accommodating, but the general manager ignored our problems, made excuses, blamed hotel policies, and refused to take accountability. I’d advise travellers not to choose the “two bedroom valley view villa with private pool” option there. The stay was unsatisfactory from start to finish, and we didn’t get our money’s worth for the expensive rooms. We went as a family but ended up in two separate rooms with no connection between them. We thought the villa would have a living room and two attached bedrooms, but the layout wasn’t explained properly. The brochure details were misleading, and the official site and brochure had no clear photos or description of the layout. The general manager blamed us for not knowing the details. The promised private pool was an empty, dirty, leaking hole in the floor. The manager said they fill it after guests arrive, but it couldn’t hold water. It took about six hours to fill, so we had to wait that long to use a pool that was supposed to be available throughout our stay. Once we stopped filling it, it drained again through broken tiles onto the floor. The water was yellow and dirty. The manager called it “natural stream water,” but it was revolting to look at and get into. Electricity and Wi-Fi were very unreliable. On our last day there was no Wi-Fi at all, and staff gave up trying to fix it. When the electricity cut out, there was no generator or other backup. The resort is very secluded, about an hour from the main road. There was no map in the brochure or on the official site to help us find it. With no internet or mobile network in the mountains, we had to guess the way and got it wrong three times before reaching the villa.

We had a lovely campfire one evening, and the staff were incredibly courteous. The food was fresh and delicious, and our room was cozy, comfortable, and hygienic. The balcony had breathtaking valley views. Zacs Valley Resort is a beautiful property surrounded by nature, away from the city buzz. A great place to disconnect and recharge. We’ll definitely visit again!

The drive to the resort feels like heading deep into the valley, and the property itself is well organized, maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. We had a spacious, luxurious room with a private pool, which made the stay more exciting. The food was next-level tasty, especially the ghee rice, which is a must-order. Service was good. Not in summer, but if you’re in Kodaikanal, this is a must-visit place to stay.

The chef and the whole staff were great with us and our two-year-old. They were happy to make special food for the kid, and we really appreciated the support. The location is great, but don’t expect the cool climate you get in main Kodai Kanal. We chose a stream view, which wasn’t much to look at. I’d go for a valley view room instead, the views are breathtaking.

The property is beautiful and remote, almost an hour’s drive from Kodaikanal main town. Our clean cottage was close to the stream and had the amenities we needed. Mobile reception is limited, though Wi-Fi keeps you connected while you relax. We booked dinner and breakfast. Dinner was a set menu, and they brought a non-veg curry and starter without asking what we wanted. We noticed and asked for vegetarian food only, which they were able to serve. If there’s no dinner buffet, management should ask guests to choose two curries instead of assuming everyone eats non-veg. Breakfast was good, but the indoor games need maintenance. We were happy with the stay overall.
