Whenever I stay in Kochi, Shalimar metro is one of my usual choices, especially in the south of Ernakulam. South Junction railway station is nearby, and the metro is within walking distance.

There's no breakfast option, just rooms. The AC rooms are available, though the non-AC ones are also good and affordable. It's a simple place with the amenities provided, fine for a night or a short stopover. Ernakulam South station is within walking distance.

It's an easy walk from Ernakulam railway station, but for two people they only supplied soap and towels, no toothpaste or toothbrush. The staff's attitude was terrible, so I wouldn't recommend this place.

The staff were friendly, the rooms clean and hygienic, and the stay was good. You're close to everything. Non-AC rooms do have a mosquito problem, though I can't say that's the management's fault. They'll give you a mosquito coil if you ask.

The location is very close to the metro and railway stations, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian restaurants nearby. But the bathroom had no light, the TV wasn't working, and there was no hot water from 7 to 10 in the morning. When I asked for hot water, they brought me a heating coil, which I sent back.
