Kasahara Homestay

The room, including the bathroom, was very clean, and the food was really good. We were contacted right after booking, and the reception was good. They also arranged a pickup from Bolpur rail station to the homestay.

The rooms were spacious, with neat, clean bathrooms, and we had an electric kettle, cups, and glasses. There’s also a water filter in the common area, and the rooms have AC, a geyser, TV, and other appliances. We stayed for one day in Bolpur in 2024, and the homestay was a nice, quiet, comfortable place. It’s within walking distance of poush mela ground, and being in the university campus area meant we could reach the various departments, chatim-tala, and other spots with just a toto ride. We didn’t order food, so I can’t comment on it. There’s a cafeteria in front of the homestay where lots of students gather. Would love to visit again someday.

The kasahara cafe gets students in the evening since it’s the one and only homestay inside biswabharati, and it’s a chill place. Food prices are quite high, though. I tried the chicken bharta and liked it, but a boiled egg is 23 rupees. One of the best homestays I’ve visited, and it’s friendly for couples as well as families.

It’s a clean place with a very calm atmosphere. Staff can be hard to find when you need them, though.
