Hotel Zambala

The location, rates, and rooms are great if parking isn’t a concern, but we didn’t stay. We had booked two nights and made motorcycle parking a priority. The property representative told us parking was available, but on arrival we found that wasn’t true. Parking was in modulation, and we would have had to move our 200 kg motorcycle in and out of their shop and leave the bikes on the road. Please get clear confirmation before booking.

We booked one room for two nights, but the hotel had us down for two rooms and three nights, apparently because they thought we were guests of a travel agency. We tried to explain that we weren’t connected to the agency and were solo travellers, but there was a misunderstanding. Then they pressured us to accept the extra booking and pay more. The manager was the main culprit, in my view, planning it to get extra money while the owner wasn’t there. The rubies manager went away to speak quietly with the owner, then came back and said we had to pay because they couldn’t change the travel agency’s booking. I was furious, but my husband stayed calm and said we should pay, as almighty was watching and would take action. We were tourists with no one we knew there, and I was afraid, so I controlled myself and paid without arguing. I’ve traveled to many places and never faced this kind of situation. As a woman, I’d ask others to avoid staying here.

The view was just perfect, and both the rooms and washrooms were clean. The location is very prompt. Our only problem was an unfortunate powercut.

The rooms are quite small, though the people here are nice. The same people, the brother of this Hotel owner, own the Zambala Hotel in Tawang.
