Hotel Al Zaiqa

The Chicken Tikka was juicy with a smoky flavor, and the Fish Fry came out crisp. I also liked the curries: Butter Chicken, Chicken Curry, and Mutton Rogan Josh all tasted rich and went well with naan or tandoori roti. Portions were generous, and the prices seemed fair for the quality. Biryani is the main draw at Al Zyaka Restaurant. The Chicken Biryani had fragrant long-grain rice, balanced spices, and tender, juicy chicken. It wasn’t too oily, and the flavor felt authentic. The Mutton Biryani was just as flavorful, with soft mutton. The place has a simple, pleasant setting with room for families and groups. Staff were courteous and attentive, and service stayed fairly quick even at busy times. I found the food fresh and carefully prepared. It’s a good choice for non-veg food, whether dining in with others or getting takeout.

That was the worst biryani I’ve ever eaten.

The bathroom in the room was very dirty, and there was a bad smell whenever I went in. The bigger problem, though, was how the reception and order staff treated us. I checked in at 1400 hrs on 17 aug and told reception my wife would arrive around 1700 hrs. They said they would need her I'd when she came. I agreed, but asked them to let her rest a little first since she’d had a very long train journey. As soon as she came into the hotel with me, staff came to our room and started behaving badly because of her I'd. I asked again for some time, but they refused. My wife felt very insecure and asked why I’d booked this hotel. If you’re coming with someone close to you, I suggest not booking here. I don’t want anyone else to feel the way I did that day. The choice is yours, but I still wouldn’t recommend it.

The location works well for travellers, but my visit was a bad experience. They brought something different from what I ordered, then told me that was just how the dish is made, as if I’d never eaten it before. Haha. A waste of money, man. Don’t go there.
