The breakfast buffet was delicious, and I loved the stunning views from the spotless, comfortable room. There are plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby, too. From check-in, the staff were so friendly and helpful. I had an amazing stay and can't wait to come back.

At Hotel Merlin International, Thrissur, I found the staff extremely polite and friendly. They were always ready to help when I needed something. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained, which made for a really relaxing stay.

The hotel's one good point is that it's within walking distance of the railway station. We arrived at 10:30 am, before the roughly 1 pm check-in, and the reception staff seemed completely uninterested in hospitality. They could at least have offered water, which is basic. We've travelled around the world, and this was one of our worst experiences. We checked out at 7:30 am even though checkout was at noon. A day earlier, we'd asked to have breakfast packed, but staff refused. The receptionist then said it would cost extra, even though we'd paid for complimentary breakfast. We declined, and they offered bread and butter instead. The rooms were just okay, with a leaking AC, a leaking bathroom hand shower, and poor cleanliness. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Proper training for the reception staff in how to handle guests could at least have made the experience better.

We like the lawn seating in the open area. The place is near P&T quarters road and close to the railway station. I first visited in 2004, and even after 20 years, the legacy is still there. The service and taste are still the same old ones.

The rooms and bathrooms are really small, and the bathroom wasn't very clean. The place also seems poorly maintained. For this price, there are better options near Thrissur railway station. The location and staff behavior are the only good points. Overall, I'd give it 2 stars. 😕
