The room wasn’t ready when I arrived at 4:00 PM, even though the stated check-in time was 12:00 PM. I waited 20 minutes before finally getting a room. I’d paid for a queen-size bed but was given two separate single beds instead. The room was dirty, with stained blankets and hair scattered around. The bathroom was old and poorly maintained, its lock didn’t work, and there was a large open hole for water drainage that felt unhygienic and unsafe. Staff were extremely rude and unprofessional, making an already bad situation worse. Worst hotel experience I’ve had in Durgapur. I wouldn’t recommend it.

For a work visit, I found the service below par, and the stay was a bad experience. Only 500 ML of complimentary water was provided for two people, which doesn’t seem fair for the room price. Extra water cost ₹30 for 1 L. They called it a premium water bottle, but it looked cheap to me. Ha ha, premium, they said. Hahaha.

I’ve been here many times, and I really like Biswanath’s service. He’s a very good guy. The geyser wasn’t working on my two previous visits, but it’s working in the room I got today.

We booked one room for 3 people, but what we got didn’t match the web page photos. The beds were dirty, with drink marks and soup spots. At 11.05p.m. while we were having dinner, two staff members pressured us to give a 5-star rating. The hotel and crew have no manners. The room telephone, TV, and bathroom light had problems, and sometimes the Geyser didn’t work either.

If you’re on a budget and want a central location and good food, The City International Hotel is a decent option. The maintenance may not meet high-end expectations, and service isn’t consistently professional.
