The quiet location just off busy M.G. Road is Ginger Kochi’s biggest plus. I’ve stayed here twice, both times in March, in 2025 and 2026. On my latest visit I had a corner room on the sixth floor, and it was peaceful at night. I slept well over both nights. The room was a good size with useful amenities, though the shower took a while to get hot. Inside, the rooms and other interiors are in good shape. Outside, the building looks its age and could use better upkeep, something I noticed right at the entrance. The lobby is spacious, and the restaurant sits slightly elevated on the ground floor. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, even though there weren’t many people at the front desk. Lunch arrived quickly on my first day. The fruit chaat and dal khichadi were both nicely prepared and came in good portions. At checkout I learned there was no à la carte menu, likely because of the LPG gas shortage across India at the time, so I skipped breakfast since the buffet was the only option. There are lots of different restaurants nearby that you can walk to, and Maharaja College Kochi Metro station is close too. I’d recommend Ginger as a budget hotel in the heart of Kochi, though the exterior needs attention to look cleaner and newer.

Breakfast was a letdown. There wasn’t much choice, and the dosa, idly and other items we tried were cold. The food selection and quality both need work. Parking was also poorly handled at Ginger MG Road, Kochi. The area is narrow, nobody was there to guide cars in, and the security staff weren’t helpful. We also got no help carrying luggage from the car to reception, which made the arrival feel unsupported. Overall, the service didn’t meet expectations.

The team was friendly and courteous, and quick to respond whenever I needed something. That made the stay feel easy and comfortable. My room was very clean and well kept, and breakfast was tasty, hygienic, and nicely organized. I had a really pleasant stay at Ginger Kochi, MG Road, and would recommend it for a comfortable visit to Kochi.

A useful choice near the Kerala High Court and Marine Drive, with a restaurant called Cumin, a pool, wifi, and laundry available. The hotel is on Doraiswamy Iyer road at MG Road kochi. Eranakulam junction railway station and MG road metro station are each less than 2 km away. The staff were polite, professional, and helpful. My room was good, neat, and comfortable, and housekeeping was efficient. Check-in is at 14:00 and checkout at 12:00. Ginger is part of IHCL’s budget range.

Mr. Manuraj, the Food & Dining Manager, really stood out during our meal. He checked in personally at our table and made an effort to accommodate our dietary requests. That kind of attention made the dining experience memorable, and he’s a real asset to the Ginger Kochi team. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived.
