Hotel Soyang Uva

Mr Satya, one of the owners, is young and very cooperative. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and good, and the beds are huge. I especially liked that the king-size bed had two mattresses, though they also have a single king-size mattress option. The receptionist was very helpful, and if you want to go sightseeing, management can arrange a good agent. You can stay in touch with the hotel while out on a tour, which made the time and money feel well spent. If you’re booking based on the photos, I’d suggest booking ahead. For me, this is a superb hotel in Gangtok with great facilities.

The room looked quite old and wasn’t like the website pictures. The reception staff were cooperative, but the rest of the staff weren’t very good, and room service was poor. I had to call three or four times even to get a bottle of water. We booked for four people, but basic amenities weren’t properly provided. The bathroom was unfinished, and there was no working laundry service. Not worth the money.

We had a medical emergency, and the manager, receptionist, and room service team all supported us a lot. Rupesh Tiwari deserves special thanks. He even arranged food for us at 1 AM, which was amazing. The hospitality was great, and this is the best hotel I’ve visited so far. Hotel Soyang UVA, keep up the good work.

Our room was good, but the service was extremely bad and the food quality wasn’t good. During our family tour, we stayed at Hotel Soyang UVA, Gangtok from 09.10.2019 to 12.10.2019. For the Nathula Pass trip, they told us the car was private and not shared, so I paid accordingly. It turned out to be a shared car, and I felt cheated. We won’t stay here again or recommend it. One star is what they deserve.
