Despite booking two months ahead and being promised a first-floor room with a view, I was given a ground-floor room without one when I arrived. It was also worth less than the price I had paid. The manager was rude and stupid.

We had to leave early for Nathu La, and the hotel arranged breakfast early for us. The staff were polite and helpful, and the rooms are spacious, with some views of MG road. On a clear day you can even catch a little of MT Kanchenjunga. It's very close to MG road, which is the best part. There's no parking at the hotel, though you can park near children's park. A budget friendly option if you just need somewhere to sleep for a night.
The beds were awful spring beds, and the manager, mr. raju, was the worst part of the stay. He could seem very polite at first, but his attitude changed if you didn't buy extras like sightseeing or meals from him at a premium. His cars were available for tours, but prices outside were at least 20-30% lower. He said he treated kids like his own, yet when we didn't order hotel food, the only choices for our 2.5 yrs kid were plain rice and dal, or maybe a boiled egg. He told us to buy food outside, and wouldn't even arrange alu bhaji or boiled alu. The hotel's food was only bengali thali, and after we ordered six plates, the fish was stale and several menu items were missing. We couldn't ask questions. Checkout was at 12:00 noon, but when guests didn't leave early, he even cut off water and asked why we weren't ready yet. The only convenience was being five minutes from the start of mg marg, after going down 60 steps through horribly dirty surroundings. Another entrance opposite children's park taxi stand involved walking over septic tanks and drains, with excreta on the path. The so called 'view rooms' do look toward the mountains, but big obstacles block much of the view, and mg marg takes up only a tiny part of what they call an mg marg view. Nothing else felt worth the price. I really don't recommend this hotel. Think twice before risking your vacation with your family.
The Himalayas look awesome from the hotel, and the rooms and lobby are always clean. The staff are very cooperative, and it's one of the most affordable places to stay in gangatok, close to MG road too. Just don't plan on eating lunch or dinner here.
The people managing the hotel were good, but the stay had several issues. The rooms smelled a bit, the towels weren't properly washed, and mosquitoes were a problem. There was no fan or AC, which is common in Gangtok, but this room had poor ventilation and felt a little suffocating. The location is odd too, reached by a very narrow passage from the main road with bushes and a slum like feel. We paid 1600 per room through google booking. After staying at misty tree mountain hotel, I realized we may have paid at least twice the real price. I'd consider this only if there aren't better options, and maybe if travelling with bachelors. Don't book online, go there directly and bargain. You should be able to get it for 1000 or less per room.
