Saikripa Gangtok

The hotel staff were helpful with planning our itinerary and offered sightseeing packages at different price points. I’d booked Sai Kripa, Gangtok for a February 2020 vacation after seeing good reviews on trip advisor, and was pleasantly surprised by the clean rooms and good views. The dining area was nicely decorated, and the menu had plenty of variety. I had a very good experience and would visit again and recommend it.

The hotel is conveniently near the main city but away from the crowds. Shops for everyday needs are close by, and taxis to MG Road, the city’s central hub, cost up to Rs. 20 per person. The food was very good, with complimentary bread and pooris for breakfast and a-la-carte dinner. Hotel Sai Kripa arranged our full itinerary for a group of fifteen friends visiting Gangtok, Lachen, and Lachung. We stayed in hotels owned by the group in Lachen and Lachung too, and the rooms and service were very good at all three. The staff were friendly, and Sai Kripa saved us a lot of hassle organizing our memorable first trip to Sikkim. The roads in Sikkim are pretty bad, so the vehicle matters a lot. The hotel arranged two Tata Sumos, which did a fair job of fitting all fifteen of us, but the ride was very bumpy in the back. We saw several new Scorpios on the roads, and those could have made our trip better.

The food was delicious, healthy, nicely served, and always on time. The guys were so punctual, I sometimes wondered if they had Alladin's Chirag with them. I can’t find the right words for the staff’s hospitality, and I’m grateful to every member of Sai Kripa for looking after me so well and making me feel at home. I was there for six days last week for a relaxcation (relax vacation). The hotel is in a calm spot, away from MG Marg’s din and bustle but not too far from it. A peaceful road takes you there with an uphill walk of up to 20 minutes. Shared cabs are available from the doorstep, though I didn’t use one. They gave me top floor Room# 502. It was on the 6th floor, but I felt like I was on 7th heaven. The room’s decor was minimal, with all the amenities I needed, and the adjacent terrace was a bonus. The room and washroom were wonderfully clean. On sunny days there’s an incredible view, and the view at night was unforgettable. I also saw rooms on the other floors, and they were all nice. I’ve already planned my next visit to Sai Kripa for the end of this year. :-)

Coming back to this hotel always brings back memories, since I spent my honeymoon here in 2009. We were well looked after, with nicely decorated, comfortable rooms overlooking the mountains and excellent food. The staff were very amicable, and the hotel also arranged our sightseeing, providing a car and driver that arrived on time. The facilities are great, but the staff are the best part. I totally recommend it to anyone visiting Gangtok.
