It's a hotel, definitely not a homestay. The rooms are decent and have a view, but getting there is a real issue. Staff service is poor, and with almost no restaurants or shops nearby, they couldn't offer menu choices because they lacked ingredients. The menu is small and the prices are premium. The manager is decent, but isn't around most of the time. They need better trained staff to make up for the accessibility problem.

The quiet, convenient location made it easy to relax, and the host was friendly and quick to respond. Check-in and check-out were very easy. The room was clean, comfortable, exactly as described, and the well-maintained space had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. I'd happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
The first room I got had a broken toilet seat, just loosely held in place with nuts and bolts. I nearly fell off and hurt my knee. There was massive mould on the washroom ceiling, which made it creepy to use. After I complained, I was moved to a better room on the second day. It was okay, with only the bare minimum working or provided. I booked for two days and may have mistaken the room view. The photos showed a mountain view, but my room looked onto the basement. That part was my mistake. The property has two sets of rooms, one with mountain views and the other with a stupid, literal basement view, so pay close attention when booking. The place's vibe felt a bit off. It's a proper hotel, not a homestay, and the name is misleading. The owners live in their home, while the hotel operates in their basement. I expected a cute homestay with a nice mountain vibe, but that wasn't what I found. It's quite far from the main city. Google Maps shows 5-6 km from the main Gangtok road, but the route is just plain difficult, and I was charged nearly 600 to get there. If you're tight on budget, stay away. The travel costs going both ways, along with the knee injury, ruined my leisure time. I wouldn't recommend this property.
The owner was oversmart and tried to manipulate us too much. He didn't understand basic hospitality or how to behave. The rooms weren't properly planned or anything like they appeared in the pictures, and the food was terrible. In one word, it destroyed our holiday, hard earned money, and mood. A big no for travelers.
We spent 4N at Soke and had a very good experience. Legsang was a great host, always available and helpful with arranging transportation.
