The Chateau Garli

The meals were a highlight, with carefully prepared Himachal Pradesh specialties at breakfast and dinner, and I enjoyed walking around nearby Pragpur. I also went to Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Temple on the Beas River, a very peaceful place with a strong sense of the region's spiritual heritage. I spent a few days at Chateau Garli while traveling in Himachal Pradesh. The village setting was quiet, and the heritage property felt like a step into another era. My spacious room had antique furnishings, was beautifully decorated, and was spotless. It had historic character while still being comfortable, almost like staying in a little palace. The staff were warm and attentive, and their personal care soon made me feel more like family than a guest.

The food was below average, and the room's climate control was disappointing. The AC didn't work properly, and even though it was cold outside, the room wouldn't warm up. The property itself looks nice, but it isn't very accessible for older guests. The beds were unusually high and hard for an elderly person to climb into.

Sunny Bhayia brought a lot of joy to our family stay. He had a lovely rapport with the children, patiently joined their games and laughter, and helped the adults relax because the kids were in safe, happy hands. We're grateful for the care and cheerful energy he gave us. After Diwali, Chateau Garli gave our family a welcome pause. The calm village and crisp mountain air felt restorative. We enjoyed Himachali food, relaxed walks through Garli village, and board games and stories under the stars. The staff were warm and efficient, and made us feel at home. The restored haveli mixes old-world heritage with modern comforts. There are ornate wood details, vintage furnishings, peaceful courtyards, and spacious, well-kept rooms. We enjoyed exploring its little corners. The property has a timeless feel, and our post-Diwali family retreat left us with lasting memories and a sense of gratitude.

Cozy, authentic place with really nice staff. The food was good too, and there's a good pool.
