Before coming, I called Hostel Relax Homestay (Hostel Relax Homestay) because its Google ratings looked good. There were three of us, and we asked for a private room. They said yes on the phone and told us to book offline instead of online, saying it would be cheaper for both sides. The quoted rate was ₹300 per person, but when we arrived, the in-charge Mukesh asked ₹600 each for a four-bed room. After we discussed it, he agreed to ₹400 per person. The room and bedsheet were clean, though the pillow was too thick and uncomfortable. The bathroom was clean too, but there was no fresh soap or shampoo. The commode flush kept failing. They fixed it once after I reported it, then it broke again. The AC was included in the price, but they said they’d switch it on only briefly. It got quite cold, so we didn’t use it much anyway. The hostel is right beside the road, and traffic noise is very loud at night. In the evening, I saw staff member Mukesh smoking a cigarette, and possibly ganja, in the hostel area. When I went to report the flush problem, the whole place smelled bad. There was also a woman on staff, but I didn’t interact with her much and can’t comment. The stay was average and didn’t match the online ratings for me. Room cleanliness was fine, but the staff behavior and maintenance could be much better.

The host is friendly and very helpful. It’s budget friendly for travelers and students whose exam center is in Gaya. Vishnupad Mandir is within walking distance, and getting to the railway station or Bodh Gaya is convenient. Rapido is probably the easier option.

I was in Gaya for an exam and stayed at Relax Hotel. Sanjay Bhaiya was especially kind, polite, and helpful, and the staff made everything smooth. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, with no issues during my stay. The owner seemed like a nice person but wasn’t very involved in the day-to-day, and I didn’t speak with him much. His son is really sweet. It’s in the main market, around 1.5 to 2 km from Vishnupad Mandir and about the same distance from the railway station. Transport to other places is easy to find. For travelers and students taking exams, this is one of the best hotels in the area. Highly recommended!

Clean room and toilets, with early check-in and late check-out possible. Budget friendly and within walking distance of Gaya Station, so it was worth it.

I was there for about four to five hours for an exam. The staff were good and trustworthy. They kept my bag until my exam was over without charging extra, and I felt safe staying there. The room was clean, with a TV and attached washroom, which was clean too. I was very satisfied with their service and behavior. I’d recommend it to students coming from another state for an exam.
