I’m glad I didn’t book this place. The welcome was pretty average, and I got the sense they don’t like locals coming in. Then I looked around at the appearance of the property, and it was awful for the price. The property does look good, but the children’s park seemed stuck in the 90s and wasn’t maintained. They knew I was coming for wedding photography. A sea-view stay was 5.5k, with another 10k just for photography. I was deeply disappointed, and my appreciation for the place disappeared. I regret having sent many guests there before. That stops now. There are better locations.

The setting is a big part of the appeal: the resort is huge, tucked into a forest, with rustic cabins that aren’t high-spec, but that suited the experience. We even saw two young monkeys playing on our first day. I’ve read other reviews mentioning dangerous animals, though I didn’t encounter any myself. India as a whole has dangerous snakes, spiders, and insects. There’s a small rocky beach at the resort, with lovely sea views. The main beach is about six minutes away by taxi, charming and less crowded than Candolim and some other beaches. We stayed for two nights before flying back to the UK, and in hindsight I wish we’d booked longer. I’d happily recommend Stone Water, and plan to include it on our next trip to India in the coming years.

The place looked appealing at first, with nice aesthetics, plenty of space, and a pleasant vibe. But access and security were handled poorly, leaving us confused and uncomfortable. Staff communication was rude and unprofessional, without basic courtesy, and some furniture looked moldy and badly maintained, which raised hygiene concerns. Looks can only go so far when upkeep and respectful treatment are lacking. If you want your holiday ruined, this is the place. 👎🏻

We booked two rooms for two nights, from 11th May to 13 May 2026, and left unsatisfied. The property is large, but poorly maintained, and our rooms weren’t ready at check-in. We had to ask for them to be cleaned immediately and for fresh bedsheets. At breakfast I found a cockroach in the oats. The staff brushed it off with “this happens,” and there was no manager available to handle the complaint. The breakfast itself was poor and there were very few vegetarian choices. They said complimentary packed water wasn’t provided because of an eco-friendly policy, but bottled water on site cost twice the MRP. That doesn’t fit the claim. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The location is genuinely beautiful, which makes the neglect across the property all the more disappointing. The swimming pools were dirty, and it felt as if the owners and management had lost interest in hospitality. For the money, this was absolutely pathetic. I booked a botanical garden view cottage for two nights and arrived shortly after check-in time, only to be told it wasn’t ready. First they put me in a standard garden-view room, not the one I’d paid for. After I asked to switch, the next room had no WiFi and was only a few metres from a garbage dumping area. The room after that was worse: outdated, stained, dirty, with holes in the door. There were lizard droppings and a cockroach in the bathroom, the towels were old and worn, and exposed wiring made it feel unsafe. Shocking condition. Food was another letdown. Many items weren’t available, including every tandoori dish, which staff blamed on “low occupancy.” Even the simple things were mishandled: fries came dusted with chaat masala, and the rawa fried fish smelled off and was cooked in oil that was barely warm. It all felt careless. The place has potential, but right now it isn’t close to worth the cost.
