Hotel The Pearl Shine

Gaja made our trip much smoother with his local knowledge, friendly manner, and willingness to help. He arranged hotel-related things, transport, and activities around Gokarna. The hotel's comfort, atmosphere, and service made for a very pleasant, memorable stay and a great place to relax.

The restaurant on the G Floor could use work, especially with seating, the range of dishes, and cleanliness. The hotel should also include complimentary breakfast in the package. Still, the two-night stay was excellent, and Pearl Shine hotel met our expectations for a new and pleasant place to stay in Gokarna. Rooms were airy and naturally lit, with central AC and hot water 24x7. The lift goes all the way to the basement car park, and the bed linen and towels were very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We paid almost 16k for two days after booking at the last minute, and it was a horrible stay. The bedsheet was torn, and what was called a garden view was really a view of another building's backyard, with hardly anything to see except a cow eating dry grass. We booked for three and paid for the extra guest, but room service only brought two towels, two brushes, and two of each item. When we asked for supplies for the third person, they argued that they were only permitted to provide two per room. I'd suggest staying anywhere other than The Pearl Shine. There are much better places with real shine, pretty views, and shacks for a lot less.

The location is decent, though the area is cramped and noisy, so it didn't feel like a relaxing Gokarna stay. Our room also let in every sound: a family arrived around 2 AM, and it felt as if they were right beside us. Management did nothing to settle the noise. The rooms are poorly laid out, and service was average at best, with little help or initiative for the price. The lift was out for all three days. At check-in, staff said it would be fixed the next day, but it never was. A real problem if you're carrying luggage or travelling with older people. Very disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend Hotel Pearl Shine, Gokarna.
