The location is excellent, close to the railway station and commercial places, and the rooms are good. But the service isn't up to the mark, and the hotel's standards seem to have slipped these days.

The food at Nagarjuna was great when we had dinner there with family, but the service was a mess. The waiter who took our order vanished, then someone inexperienced came over and struggled with the serving spoons and forks. We finally told him to leave everything on the table so we could serve ourselves. He was pleasant and clearly trying, and the working staff were cheerful and courteous. The waiting staff kept changing throughout dinner, though. We asked the manager for another chilled bottle of mineral water, and he disappeared too. We ordered a full Tandoori Chicken, but one breast quarter was missing: the two leg quarters, one breast quarter, and a wing arrived. We didn't make an issue of it. The managers were the problem. In my view, the people wearing ties and jackets were morons and need training. It seems they may have got their jobs through a connection to the owner. It's a shame a restaurant with such wonderful cuisine is run so badly.
The breakfast was sparse, with just ten items on the guest list I saw, and the spread felt more like what you'd get at a place charging around 1,000 per room night than something that matched these room rates. Maybe the occupancy level has something to do with it. They served everything they had for breakfast except water. If you know Hyderabad, be aware that CHUTNEYS outside the hotel only shares the name. The quality is nowhere close. The property has good hardware, but the software is badly maintained.
I checked the kitchen too, and it was kept clean and well maintained. The food quality is excellent, and everyone in management and the hotel staff provided good customer service. That service is a real plus. It may not have some 3-star facilities, but for Guntur city it's more than enough. Anyone can go here; I think it's the best in Guntur. There's more I could say, but this is enough. Contact the hotel management if you want to know more. Thank you.
The food was only okay, and the event turned into a waste of money. We booked a function hall for 100 people, but the room seemed big enough for maybe 50. It was stuffy, without proper ventilation. The chairs were in the way, and I had to steady myself several times to keep from falling. I can imagine how uncomfortable the guests must have been. The decor was garish, though bearable. The wash area was disgusting and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for ages. When we asked staff to clean it, they said the cleaners weren't available. The hall had been booked in advance, so shouldn't they have thought to clean the wash area? A horrible experience for what was supposed to be a beautiful event. This hotel doesn't deserve even one star. Suckers!
