The room was spacious, and the lift was eventually fixed and the chair replaced, but I wouldn't have given even two stars otherwise. The place felt poorly maintained from the start. Dust covered the tables, TV, and shelves in the almirah; I had to ask twice for cleaning, then push the cleaning staff hard the next day. I even got my head caught in a spiderweb by the almirah. Common areas were dirty too, and room rubbish was left uncovered outside all day. The furniture and fittings were in bad shape. A chair had exposed nails, the curtains were torn and filthy, and the bathroom glass door lining was broken and looked ready to come off. The lift wasn't working on our first day; it took several requests and a firm complaint at reception to get it repaired. The bedding was old and misshapen, with a hard mattress that was difficult to sleep on. The poor, narrow linen kept slipping off, so after turning over a couple of times I was lying on the mattress with the bedspread only on one side. Room service brought our food quickly but no plates or spoons, and the cutlery took another 10-15 minutes, by which time the food was cold. The Jira Aloo was undercooked, with large raw potato pieces. In the evening, milk for my child came in a dirty kettle without a lid, covered with foil. I checked before giving it to the baby and saw black particles. Staff wanted to verify our complaint before bringing another glass, and I doubt the replacement was anything but filtered and served again. Nothing about the amenities felt clean or looked after. I'm still in room 217.
