We had prepaid for two rooms through the MakeMyTrip app, but arrived late at night to find the receptionist asleep at the entrance. We rang the bell again and again and tried to wake him for over 20 minutes before he responded. He then refused to check us in, saying he had no confirmation from MakeMyTrip and no rooms available. Since it was late and we’d already paid, we called their customer care. They asked us to hand him the phone and check his email for confirmation, but he wouldn’t cooperate. His phone kept ringing, possibly with MakeMyTrip calling, and he ignored it. After a long discussion with customer care, he offered us two rooms only if we paid extra, despite first saying there were none available. MakeMyTrip couldn’t get us checked in, offered a refund, and told us to find somewhere else within a 100 km radius. We ended up booking another hotel nearby late at night. This was an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience. The service was poor, and the staff member was uncooperative and arrogant. I strongly advise people to think again before booking here, online or in person. I wouldn’t stay even if it were free.

After we checked out, I realized I’d left my charger plugged in beside my wife’s. When we called, the hotel returned my wife’s damaged charger but said they couldn’t find mine, which was in good condition and had been plugged in right next to it. It’s hard to understand how one charger was found while the other disappeared, and it left me seriously concerned about the honesty of the cleaning staff. Management showed little interest in looking into it or helping resolve the issue, so we felt ignored and disrespected. The hotel failed to show accountability over a simple lost item complaint. Check your belongings carefully before leaving, since the authorities don’t seem willing to take responsibility when things go missing.

For the price, the room, bathroom, access, and parking were good enough. The owner was the worst part of our stay. We arrived around midnight and rang and called to wake him, but got no response. We went inside and tried to wake him, but he wouldn’t get up and spoke to us very rudely. We later filed a complaint. We eventually got the key. Date 3rd and 4th Oct. Check in timing: 2AM 4th oct. We had a stressful time at this hotel, and the staff were arrogant and didn’t know how to treat customers. The room was dirty, the cot was broken, toiletries were missing, the TV didn’t work, and there wasn’t even a blanket. We’d booked earlier, but traffic meant we arrived at 10 pm. The receptionist said they wouldn’t give us a room because we were past 7 pm. I thought a booked room could be checked into at any time within 24 hours. I’d tried to pay online while booking, but no payment option appeared. The receptionist shouted that it hadn’t been paid and refused to give us the room. As a woman there late at night, I panicked. It was Saturday night, and Guruvayur was full of devotees. All the hotels were full, with nowhere available nearby. After I spoke to the receptionist for a while, he finally agreed to give us the room. Having booked ahead and still facing a non-cooperative worker late at night was an awful part of my travel history. They seem confident customers will keep coming because of the prime location and budget-friendly prices.
