Fabhotel Red Rose

I was charged far more than the online rate, and nobody properly explained the extra charges. I felt cheated and was very dissatisfied with the service. The room also looked nothing like the website photos, and the bed was uncomfortable and poorly maintained. The toilet and bathroom were unclean and didn’t seem properly sanitized, which made the whole stay feel unhygienic. It was a terrible experience. They need to improve their cleanliness, pricing honesty, and customer service. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or stay here again.

I paid 4K per night for room 312, and the condition was awful. The room was wet when I checked in. The washroom window pane was broken, the mirror was damaged by the leaked AC gas pipe, and some tiles were broken. The wardrobes smelled, the room was dirty, and the mattress was only average, like what you’d find in a cheap hotel. The TV didn’t work for 1.6 days of my 2-day stay, and they didn’t provide an AC remote or even an ironing board. The toiletries were so bad that I was glad I’d brought my own. Breakfast wasn’t ready until 8:30 AM, though it was supposed to be ready by 8. If I’d had time, I probably would’ve filed a consumer court case against Fab Hotels.

The man with glasses at reception behaved very unethically. After seeing the room, I found the situation totally unsuitable. There’s a separate hygiene room for foreign guests, and I don’t know what the issue is with this hotel.

This place works for business travellers or an overnight family stay, though there’s not much in the way of recreation. It’s a decent budget option near IIT Guahati, with good connectivity to Guahati and both Ola and Uber available. The rooms aren’t luxurious, but they’re comfortable, clean, and functional, with AC and a tea/coffee maker. Sheets and towels were clean, and the bathrooms had hot and cold running water. Toiletries were very basic and unbranded. Room service was OK, but housekeeping needs improvement. The food tasted good and portions were sufficient. Lunch and dinner prices are reasonable, while breakfast is very expensive and better avoided. Always use bottled water here. Book online early and put your requirements in the request, as that helps get the best rates and have them fulfilled. Reception staff coordination isn’t great, so offline booking can be a problem.
