The staff were great, breakfast was very good, and the building was clean. We travelled with a senior citizen, who liked the place, and the elevator was useful. Kamakshya station is close by. The setup felt unusual for a hotel, though: the building was originally apartments, and the flats were later turned into hotel rooms. We booked two rooms but were given what was really a two-bedroom flat with a kitchen and drawing room, so it didn't feel like staying in a hotel.

We had a pleasant, comfortable night here and plan to return when we're back in Guwahati. We stayed in room 401, a suite with ambient lighting and a view. The room, toilet, and surrounding space were neat, and all the amenities worked. Room service was a bit below par, but the staff made up for it with their polite, good behavior. Breakfast had a sufficient, ample spread, good quality, well attended, and suited to your choice and taste. The residential area felt safe, and Ola Uber Rapido were running all night, so communication was good. I'd encourage people to spend a day or two here. Kashvijay is a "budget-friendly" hotel, not a "budget" hotel!

The hotel's local Assamese neighborhood is a nice feature, with a vegetable and fish market just a minute's walk away. It's about 3 km from Kamakhya Temple, so it may work for pilgrims, but business travelers should think carefully: Paltan Bazar and Fancy Bazar are around 9-10 km away, public transport is limited, and there can be heavy traffic after crossing the new bridge. There isn't convenient direct connectivity from Jalukbari, so guests usually need cabs or auto-rickshaws. I stayed in Room 202 at Treebo Kashvijoy, and service was poor. Even drinking water took nearly 30 minutes after I called reception. Breakfast was average at best, with the same limited menu each day and very little fruit. The flat-style room layout may suit some people but didn't feel like a typical hotel. Toiletries were inadequate, and the bathroom floor was dangerously slippery. There were frequent power outages nearby. The hotel has backup, but switching between mains and backup was still inconvenient, especially at night.

We left within a day and moved elsewhere because the room was so cramped and the stay wasn't what we'd expected. We booked after reading good online reviews, but it didn't feel up to the Treebo standard I'm used to. There was barely space beyond the bed; once our luggage was in, moving around was difficult. A small study table, chair, and tea kettle were there, but the bathroom was narrow and poorly ventilated. The property has open common areas, kitchens, and shared living spaces in an apartment-style layout. It looked good, though the common area wasn't comfortable for sitting and working regularly. Parking was good, and the restaurant was decent. Breakfast there was good and properly served. I also found the calls and emails right after booking irritating, asking for half the payment or threatening cancellation. That felt unusual after staying at many Treebo properties. The staff didn't seem especially friendly or welcoming either.

The rooms were clean and tidy, the rates affordable, and the staff polite and helpful. A few things could be better: the breakfast choices were limited to Puri Sabji, Bread & Butter, and Omelette. The receptionists couldn't speak or understand English, so you'd need Hindi to communicate. The hotel is some distance from the main Highway, and I needed Google Maps to find it. There aren't any big shops nearby.
