The Gamora Hotel

The pleasant atmosphere and top-notch service made for a really excellent experience at Hotel The GAMORA. Everything went smoothly from check-in through check-out, with no hassle. I’ll definitely come back!

I only had to stay seven hours overnight, but it was a horrible experience. There were mosquitoes all through the room, and the bathroom was in a state I can’t describe. The washrooms, linen and curtains all had cleanliness problems. It feels like the promoters spent money on the reception and common areas, with no attention to keeping the rooms clean or maintained. This needs serious improvement.

The location worked well, with good food options a 1 to 1.5 km walk away. The washroom was a good size, and the room had nice natural light. The hotel started a restaurant and room service on our last day, but we didn’t try them. It was better than OYO. We stayed four nights. On the first day, the power was out in that area, but they had a generator, which was a plus. It was noisy, but the bigger problem was diesel smoke in the lift and passages. The fumes got into our room and irritated us so much our eyes burned. We asked to switch rooms because of the smoke, even though our original room was bigger, and they changed it quickly. The new room wasn’t clean, and the room service guys were bad. There was no running hot water, and the geysers had been removed from all the rooms. They gave me a rod heater instead, which was risky and inconvenient. It took a day to fix the flush tank, but they did get it repaired when a plumber was available. Room cleaning used the same mop as the washroom. I was angry about the room service. Can’t they improve this? We need a clean room every day. I wish every hotel kept a viper in the washroom so guests could leave it dry for the next person.

I stayed here in July 2025, and it was disappointing. The room and bathroom were dirty. After I complained, housekeeping came to clean, but then water started collecting in the bathroom because the drain was blocked. We asked for a towel and got just one. The same thing happened when I requested a dental kit. I was told those items are only provided when specifically requested. The cleanliness, service and attitude were all disappointing, and the receptionist wouldn’t acknowledge the shortcomings.
