Cockroaches were everywhere. We went out for a while, then came back to find them running across the bed. In the bathroom they were all over the buckets and sink, and at night they crawled on the bed so much that I couldn't sleep for even an hour. Room service was slow. The food was good, which was the only good thing about the place. The room wasn't clean and had a strange chemical smell. Maybe they use it to temporarily get rid of the cockroaches when guests arrive. When we checked in, one staff member joked, “There are 1-2 cockroaches, not many.” Two or three hours after we got into the room, they all came out. A staff member brought Red HIT SPRAY to kill them. We asked if we could keep it for the night, and he said, “I have to spray the other rooms too.” We were shocked that the cockroach problem seemed so normal to him that he joked about it. The blankets were stained, and the AC had no remote. I was really disappointed.

The staff were humble and ready to help with a smile, and the food was good. The rooms are small, but neat and clean. Parking can be a bit difficult during the day, though it's okay after 7-8 PM. It's a good place to stay near Premnagar Ashram in Haridwar.

The hygiene made this a very unpleasant stay at Hotel Jagat Inn. The washrooms were filthy and smelled bad, with broken mugs and buckets and a damaged ceiling. There were pan masala stains on the walls, and the toilets were so dirty that public washrooms or restaurants can have cleaner ones. The blankets smelled bad too and looked as though they hadn't been washed in a long time. The rooms themselves were basic OYO-type rooms, suitable only for a night. I expected much better cleanliness and maintenance. It was uncomfortable, and I can't recommend it.

Mishra Ji, the owner, showed superb hospitality. All the staff were polite, courteous and made us feel at home. If God wishes, my wife and I will choose Hotel Jagat Inn, Haridwar again in the future.
