Khanna Palace

I had almost no sleep because of the mosquitoes. The rooms were dirty and poorly maintained, with dust and hard water stains on all the taps. The AC didn't work, the bathrooms had inadequate lighting, and there was no hot water at the sink. After I got the person in charge in the morning, they changed my room, but the fan in the new room also didn't work. The supervisor said it would be fixed, yet no technician came before I checked out. The hotel charges exorbitantly for very little, despite its prime location. I paid more at reception than the quoted price, and the two day stay was a very bad experience in dev bhoomi. Be careful before reserving here.

We needed to sleep four people in one room, and the staff cooperated when we asked them to arrange it. The rooms are decent for a night or two, though the furnishings and fittings aren't the best. It's easy to reach, with both indoor and outdoor parking. Recommended!

The reception team were friendly, gave helpful information and were clear about rates and services. Room boys were good too, and parking can get a little cramped in season but is manageable. The rooms are dated, with window ACs that need maintenance, glasses and water jugs that didn't look clean, and bathrooms that need work. The restaurant is expensive, though there are plenty of other options around. Good for a day or two, in a well located, accessible spot on the way to 4 Dhams. One of the area's oldest hotels.

Bugs and cockroaches were under the mattress and all over the bedding, and there were plenty of them. When I called the service staff, he casually said, 'It's just one madam, it happens in the rainy season.' We asked to change rooms, but every room we saw had the same problem. In the new room they offered, there were bugs and cockroaches under the mattress too. When we checked a couple of rooms, the staff member told me not to lift the mattress because he'd have to make the bed again. I said he seemed more concerned about the bedding than guest satisfaction or service. He got really annoyed, as did the staff when we raised the issue, and they didn't even seem sorry. It's disgusting and surprising that such an old hotel is so poorly maintained. I'm attaching pictures of the room number. I strongly advise against staying here.
