OYO 76814 Hotel Ambar Palace

The rooms smelled bad, the walls were damp, and they had lipstick marks on them. Bedsheets were dirty, washrooms were filthy, and the geyser didn't work. There was no AC, no ventilation window, no working TV, no restaurant, kitchen, parking, or Wi-Fi. The room service phone was dead too. Staff agreed the walls were damp, but once you've paid, they don't seem to offer support. OYO lists features that aren't actually there, and even its customer support couldn't help me. I consider this a scam to draw customers in with a low price. They also wouldn't show me the room before check-in, even though I had already paid. If you've booked, ask to see it first for clarity, or hold off on paying until you've viewed it. I've attached some images, and other reviews mention similar problems. I wanted to give a negative rating, but the lowest option was one star. You can reply if you'd like more clarification.

Dheeraj, the property manager, was friendly and very polite, and the food was tasty and budget friendly. The staff were cooperative too. It's a reasonably priced place near Shiv Murti chowk, within walking distance of Haridwar Railway Station and the Roadways Bus Stop. The rooms were clean, though the bathroom was a bit cramped. A good stay overall.

The staff's behavior was awful. Even after an online booking, they demanded extra money and threatened customers who refused to pay more. They are looting people. I would give a negative rating if I could, and would never recommend staying there.

I paid the full amount for two days, but the room I was given was very dirty, despite the owner's promise of a neat, clean, hygienic room when I called before check-in. I left after 30 minutes and asked for a refund. They refused to refund the second day. Never stay here.
