Grand Thekkady

The hotel is very clean, has good facilities, and there are restaurants nearby. It’s right across from the government bus for Periyar park, and only a few minutes’ walk from the government information desk for park activities. The park staff were extremely kind and let us leave our luggage while we were out doing activities. Highly recommend.

The room was spacious and the ambience was really good. There’s a sports area, gym, and swimming pool, which are better than at other hotels I’ve stayed in. Facilities were available with a call, and breakfast was delicious. The management staff were supportive, and we were happy with the service and facilities overall. Thanks.

The dining team made meals pleasant. Abdulsamad and Sandra were caring, attentive, and always served with a smile. Priya and Laxmi at reception were patient, welcoming, and helpful too. A mini fridge was part of my booking but missing at first; after I followed up, Priya got it sorted promptly. We were comfortable overall, and the staff’s responsiveness made a positive difference. There were some small issues: the room intercom didn’t work, so after we reported it they gave us another number to contact the team. Wi-Fi range was poor at times and affected the connection. A few improvements there would make the stay better.

The room service was quick, and the clean pool was really relaxing. The room itself was spacious, fabulous, and comfortable, with a balcony that added to the feel, though the washroom was a bit small. There were indoor games too, including carrom, table tennis, football, and chess. Breakfast was à la carte rather than a buffet, but tasted good and was satisfying. We’d first booked Hotel Seasons, Thekkady. Before we arrived, we got a call saying we’d be moved to another property with upgraded rooms. The upgrade was fine, but the receptionist was rude and pressured us to take the room or leave right away, which was a bad first impression. Once checked in, the room and amenities made the stay enjoyable despite that rough start. Better communication at the front desk would improve the experience.
