The bell boys were helpful and greeted us with smiles. For what I paid, the hotel was decent, and I didn't notice anything shady. But it's really just a basic place to sleep. The beds were hard, the room had poor ventilation, and they sprayed fragrance in it. The sheet was torn, and the washbasin leaked, though they fixed it later. Breakfast was included with the room, but there's no kitchen. They arranged food from the market and offered it from 9 to 10 am.

The bedding and AC were good, and the rooms felt cozy. Still, the bathroom had a cockroach, the TV didn't work, and a taxi took a long time to arrive because the hotel is in a remote location. There was no kettle, and although I asked for morning tea, they didn't provide it. They also wouldn't pack up the breakfast we'd paid for.

There wasn't even a phone in the room to reach the staff, and during checkout a staff member was drunk and arguing. The bathroom was unhygienic, with a leaking flush through the night, broken taps, and dirty water coming out. The sheets were extremely dirty and the floor hadn't been cleaned. We had a horrible stay and never expected this from fabhotels.

On a winter evening, after my booking had been confirmed, the hotel told me there was no room and to contact the service provider that sold it. There was no empathy at all. The staff were rude and arrogant, completely out of step with what I expect from hospitality in India, West Bengal, Howrah, Kolkata, or FabHotels.
