Denissons

The spacious, spotless room and fresh linens made a great impression, and the food had tasty local and continental choices. At Denisson Hotel in Hubli, check-in was easy thanks to plenty of parking. There’s a big pool, a wide lawn, and lots of open space to unwind. Staff were quick, warm, and friendly whenever we needed something. For me, Denisson is the best hotel in North Karnataka and among the finest in Karnataka. If you’re visiting Hubli or the region, I’d book here for the comfort and hospitality.

We had a Premium Club Room, and it was enormous. There was room for an extra bed without making the space feel crowded. The bathroom was just as roomy, with instant hot water at any hour, even with three people using it. The large Jacuzzi was especially nice on rainy days when we couldn't do much outside. The room also had effective AC and ventilation, plus a safe, kettle, fridge, hairdryer, ironing board, and plenty of hangers. I appreciated getting drinking water in glass bottles. Housekeeping kept the big room very clean, and she advised us to keep the balcony's double doors shut during the monsoon so insects wouldn't come in. Room service was prompt and courteous. The buggy was a real help for anyone with elderly family members. The pool is large and well designed, and felt safe for adults and children, though a lifeguard was there only for limited hours. There’s also a pleasant path for walks or jogging. The private beach is lovely, but the sea can be rough in rainy season, so it's best avoided then. Peahens and peacocks wandering over the green lawns and sitting in the trees were one of the property's special sights. At reception, we were welcomed with a shell garland and a drink. Some of the reception team were excellent, but a few seemed disengaged and weren't as welcoming or attentive. Restaurant staff were cheerful and attentive. Breakfast suited South Indian tastes, with local Kumta dishes such as Kumta Poha, Kumta Ambade, and Kumta Ghee Pudi Dosa. Dinner was good quality, though the menu is limited and fairly expensive. The resort is around 8-10 km off the main road, and reaching it means driving along interior roads, though there are signboards.

They were understanding when I asked for a late checkout, and I really appreciated the help. The staff were polite, welcoming, and ready to assist. Food was very nice too. I had a wonderful stay and would consider this place for a family visit or a business trip.

The meal itself was flavorful and well made, but the service left us disappointed. We saw better dressed or more affluent looking guests being served faster. Even after we asked for help, there were delays, and some staff giggled while we tried to get their attention. Good food doesn't make up for that. Everyone should be treated with the same respect, whatever they look like.
