We stayed two nights. The rooms were large enough for three people sharing, and the hot water was good. Breakfast especially could have been better. I’d suggest sticking to North Indian and healthy breakfast dishes, and having bread available as a staple. The location could be better too, the approach road isn’t great.

The cook is good and puts in effort. We were pressured to write a review, though satisfied customers should choose to do that themselves. The staff also played music really loudly and refused to turn it down. People travel all the way to Nubra for peace and quiet, so loud music shouldn’t be played like that.

We were charged 4500 rupees for one night, even though 1500 rupees had been quoted for the room. In the morning they insisted it was 1500 each, something that had never been mentioned beforehand. We’d booked a room for three, with one double bed and a mattress. The sheets were stained, the shower was broken, and there were silverfish bugs. 1500 would have been reasonable, but 4500 was outrageous. Be aware, that’s three times the agreed price.

The garden was my favorite part. I visited in April, when the weather was pleasant, though it got cold at night, around 2-3°C. We could sit outside and eat in the garden in the morning and evening, which was so relaxing. There are a few apple trees, and they had beautiful white blossoms when I was there. I heard the apples ripen around September and are ready to eat then. Everyone was incredibly kind. I needed scissors to trim my bangs, but the hotel didn’t have any, so a local took me to the convenience store across the street to buy some. I later learned he drinks Vietnamese coffee! We hung our ao dai outside to dry in the morning, and by the afternoon someone had brought them inside for us. Everyone was so friendly and sweet.
