The Dune Escape

The sand dunes are barely 10 minutes away, so it was easy to get out early for a camel ride and golden hour photos. The in-house kitchen uses ingredients from its own garden, and everything was freshly prepared. Breakfast juices were freshly squeezed, and the meals felt nourishing and lovingly made. The Dune Escape is tucked into the peaceful heart of Nubra Valley, with the Karakoram Range all around. The natural grounds cover 15 kanals and feel spacious and restful. I stayed here during my Ladakh journey and found a nice mix of luxury and warmth. My room was cozy and had a minibar and coffee machine, and there was also a spa and bonfire evenings. The staff were attentive and kind, and I got to meet the grounded, warm-hearted owner. You can feel the care that goes into the place. If you’re staying in Hunder and want luxury with a welcoming feel, it’s worth considering.

The people here are superb, and both the stay and rooms were very good. The hotel sits nicely among the mountains, with a lovely garden of flowers and fruit, including an apple tree. They also put on a Ladakhi Cultural night for us.

The Dune Escape is beautifully designed and feels close to nature, with a peaceful ambience that’s special. From the moment I arrived in Nubra, Ladakh, the welcome, food, and natural setting all felt just right. The staff were kind and attentive, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. I can’t wait to return to recharge and enjoy Ladakh’s beauty again.
