Hotel O Sai Residency

The premium suite we'd booked was already occupied when we arrived, and the receptionist took no responsibility, telling us to do whatever we wanted. Before going there, we'd paid an advance through OYO's official call centre, but the receptionist's number provided by OYO was switched off when we tried calling. The management felt irresponsible and unethical. I don't understand why they partner with hotel booking sites.

The washroom smelled bad and looked unpleasant, and the AC wasn’t working. The room offered no privacy either: three sides had cot-board walls, so conversations in neighboring rooms sounded like they were happening right beside you. Even with the door locked from inside, it could still be opened from outside. They also asked for 100 rupees when I arrived, despite my online booking. I wouldn’t choose this place.

I paid online after booking, but at reception they said the amount wasn’t enough and demanded another 600 rupees. They claimed the room cost 999 and wouldn’t hand it over at the lower online rate. The receptionist told me to sort it out with OYO customer care, saying they had nothing to do with it, while still taking extra money from me. I’d come a long way, and even after showing my booking, I was left embarrassed and wasn’t given a room. The way he spoke was completely inappropriate. The rooms were very ugly, and the extra charge made this a terrible experience.

I’d already paid, but the room was so unclean and poorly maintained that I decided not to stay. It was 1 a.m., and my family and I had to wander around looking for somewhere else, which was very uncomfortable and difficult. Since I didn’t stay, they should at least return the money to protect their reputation.
