Hotel Rainbow Park by OYO Roooms

We booked two rooms for five people and stayed for two days. Cleanliness was below average. The blankets and pillow covers hadn’t been changed when we checked in, there was no bathroom door mat, and the towels smelled bad. Housekeeping cleaned only one room, and only on the first day. Several basic things didn’t work. The AC in one room was faulty, and even after we went to complain twice and were told it was fixed, it only worked intermittently. The TV in the other room didn’t work either. Someone tried to fix it but couldn’t, so we gave up. The door locks were poor. The fridges seemed to be there for show: they smelled awful and had no power. If cleanliness and basic facilities matter to you, I’d avoid this hotel.

The rooms were spacious, but my three-night booking turned into a nightmare. There was no water in the room, so I had to take my own bottle to the corridor dispenser. The TV never worked. I complained three times, but they neither replaced it nor offered another room. The fridge didn’t work either. I’d prepaid through an OYO Diwali offer coupon, so OYO wouldn’t allow any changes, and moving elsewhere after claiming a refund would have cost much more. Cleanliness was very poor, the bathroom fittings leaked, and the old furniture was in deteriorated condition. The OYO photos don’t match reality, and I got no support from OYO.

We arrived at 7 am hoping for an early check-in. They said there were no vacant rooms, even though I could see one right in front of us. I could have accepted that, maybe a little extra would have got us the room. But when I asked if they could keep our luggage for two hours while we went for breakfast, they flatly refused. They also said they wouldn’t take responsibility for it after check-in. What hotel does that? The last straw was asking for a room with a clean bathroom and bedsheets. The person at reception told us to move our booking to another hotel. When I mentioned the cleanliness reviews I’d read, he blamed us and said they were under maintenance, which was why those reviews had been written. In the end, I cancelled and changed hotels because of how they handled us. I worry about anyone staying there.

The main road location made getting around easy, and the rooms were spacious. Management was okay, but the bathrooms weren’t maintained properly: there were broken or rusted pipes and an unclean toilet. The reading table and chair were old, dusty and poorly maintained. Check-in was a problem too. The OYO app showed a different classic room from the one we actually got, and we had to pay an extra 800 bucks for the room we’d booked through OYO. There’s no kitchen, so food has to come from outside. There’s no complimentary breakfast, yet we were billed for one, and OYO assist didn’t help. It was a horrible experience, just an okay stay at best.
