Hotel Shri Chaitra by OYO Rooms

There were cockroaches all over the hotel, and the cupboard wasn't clean. The bedsheets were dirty, and neither the TV nor the A/C worked. This is a very bad hotel, not even worth one star. A truly awful experience.

The room was comfortable for the price, with good parking and room service, and the TV and heater worked. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the staff were fine. But the corridor smelled of cigarette smoke during the two days I stayed, and the bathroom was so cramped I couldn't stretch my arms. The A/C remote didn't work and the room cooled very slowly. I'd booked the saver room after looking at the Oyo pictures, but it was tiny and wasn't shown in the photos. For just Rs. 200 more, there's a big difference in room size. They won't come to clean or do housekeeping unless you call, and they don't come otherwise until you check out. I'd rate it 3/5. Nothing special, but you can choose it for a short stay at that price. Don't pick the saver room.

The staff were the best part, always helpful and available. The hotel quality is decent, and the cleaning was reasonably good, though it could still be better. Toilet paper seemed to be an uncommon feature.

We finally got a room after a long and frustrating check-in. On the day we were due to arrive, I called the property manager to make sure it would be ready. He said they wouldn't accept guests with online bookings. After about 30 minutes on the phone with OYO customer care and the manager, he agreed to give us a room. When we got there, reception said none were available. The manager wouldn't answer my calls, and we waited around 45 minutes until someone checked out and they gave us that room. The bed linen hadn't been changed, there were no towels, the geyser and AC didn't work, and the room and bathroom smelled bad. The walls were covered in stains. I also noticed people arriving on bikes without luggage and staying only an hour or two, which made me think the hotel's main business might involve illegal activity. In the middle of the night, people were shouting at reception. I found out they too had booked online and arrived with family, only to be told there were no rooms. If the hotel won't accept online bookings, why keep it listed? They should take it offline, or tell customers when they book that online reservations won't be honored. The receptionist was rude and threatened us with an early checkout. Worst hotel I've ever seen.
