OYO 15391 Flagship Mehdipatnam

At least the bus stop is within walking distance. The stay was only okay, though, and this was my worst OYO booking on 24th Sep after many good stays in other cities. The room wasn't fully clean, the sink area looked dirty, and I suspect the bedsheet hadn't been changed. The pillows were very old. The room looked spacious, but the furnishings seemed temporary. The cupboards wouldn't open all the way, and most TV channels weren't subscribed.

Rain came through the windows and left a pond on the floor. On really bad days, you might want to bring a life jacket. The lift's soothing open-door warning tone kept me awake all night too. They didn't provide drinking water, which is a basic part of hospitality. Restaurant staff seemed confused most of the time, and it took an hour to get tea. They made the right call by not allowing outside food.

The reception staff in particular had an attitude problem and didn't speak to customers properly. They acted as though they were doing us a favour by giving us a room for free, when we were paying guests, not asking for a free stay. I understand that security protocols need to be followed, but there's a proper way to ask people. In the hotel industry, if you can't speak well to customers, you're not fit to work in hospitality.

I booked OYO flagships in other cities, but this hotel really disappointed me. The room was small and below par. The bed was old and noisy, the linens weren't clean, the curtains were dirty, and the pillows smelled awful. The bathroom was filthy, the taps weren't proper, and they didn't provide the OYO bathroom kit I requested. I booked for three, but the receptionist denied that and I had to convince him to let my family in. Staff made a lot of noise at 3:30am. Not what I expected from OYO. So disappointing.
