Fabhotel Sukh Vilas

The staff were rude, flies were everywhere, and the food took a long time. I saw what felt like discrimination, and it was a terrible experience from beginning to end. Our order was mixed up, as was the order for the people at the next table. One starter wasn’t cooked properly. We sent it back, but it only came again after one main course had arrived, and dessert was put on the table while we were still eating the starter. The place is all hype for nothing, and I don’t understand the high rating. People sue over this kind of treatment and win. I’ll never return. It was the worst dining experience I’ve had.

The price was very reasonable, and the place has potential if it’s managed better. We’d recommend it to anyone looking for a good deal. The location suited us because we needed to be near Daly College, though it was dusty and run down, with construction material outside. Rooms smelled of smoke, and we weren’t comfortable with them apparently renting rooms by the hour while our family with young kids was staying there. At first, the stay was disappointing, but it improved once the rooms were cleaned and the bedsheets changed in front of us. The staff cooperated, which saved us from cancelling. The property was fairly clean overall. It’s currently run by three local guys who handle the cleaning, room service, and other jobs.

The manager wouldn’t put our three rooms on the same floor. We got two together and the third on another floor, where he said it would take about half an hour to clean. We’d checked in around 3 pm and then waited another hour for that room’s keys. Our booking started at 12 pm, yet none of the rooms was ready when we arrived. The rooms were dirty, and when I asked for them to be cleaned, the manager made excuses. Check-in also involved unnecessary questions, and the staff were rude. We asked for drinking water and were told we had to buy bottles from the hotel. At about 12:30 at night, we asked for water again, saying we’d seen jugs and didn’t want to pay for bottles. They said the staff were asleep and they didn’t provide service after midnight. I don’t know why they run a hotel if they can’t provide basic things like water, glasses, and plates at night. Other hotels I’ve seen provide room service around the clock. Two friends came by as a surprise in the evening, but the manager stopped them at the door and said visitors weren’t allowed. That rule wasn’t on the website or displayed at reception. It felt like they were trying to trouble us because we’d complained about the unhygienic staff and dirty rooms. When we complained to the help centre desk, the manager called and shouted at us, saying he’d provide clean rooms within an hour. We shouldn’t have had to wait when the hotel should’ve had them ready by 11:30. We went there to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and I hated the place. I’m sharing pictures so everyone can see.

We had a booking through Agoda, but when we arrived, the hotel said no rooms were available and told us to cancel through Agoda. Customer care left me on hold for almost half an hour and gave me no refund or solution. With children aged 1 and 4 with us, we booked another hotel offline. The employees were very rude. I don’t think they intended to return my money, and I’ll file a case against them for sure. Please don’t book here online or offline. It seems like a scam.
