Hotel The Grand Tara

Mr. Naveen at reception was not cordial or guest friendly, and I couldn't give the manager's service zero stars. We were assigned two rooms. One door wouldn't lock, even after we asked several times for it to be repaired. The other was difficult to close, and its lock was broken. The place looks from outside like it might be good for parties, with nice food and atmosphere, but my parents disliked the breakfast. Be careful when booking, and don't choose it just for the location. There are other affordable hotels in the same area at similar prices.

The stay was very unpleasant. Our bedsheets and pillows were dirty, the toilet was clogged, and the food was far below basic standards. Staff showed no concern, and the manager was unhelpful and didn't know how to communicate politely. I'd avoid this place.

The room was still not ready by 8 pm, and the staff were unhelpful, just going through the motions. Parking was a joke: room for only 2-3 cars, shared with SBI and restaurant customers. The AC duct looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in ages, and broken switches and cupboards had only temporary patches. There's clearly no attention to maintenance. The room was average in size, but that's about the only positive. The bedsheet, towels, and pillow covers were filthy. We repeatedly asked for clean replacements, but staff didn't seem interested and just gave us another dirty sheet, saying only those kinds were available and we'd have to adjust. The kettle and cups were so dirty we didn't even want to drink hot water from them. We paid ₹2500 without getting breakfast. At that price I expected much better. The room wasn't worth ₹1200, let alone ₹2500. Traffic noise came straight in, and I couldn't sleep because there was no soundproofing. This was the worst service I've had in Indore. I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated and will tell everyone I know.

We arrived to find the rooms unclean and not ready for check-in. The reception manager spoke rudely and unprofessionally, was unhelpful, and charged us extra. The whole experience was very poor and disappointing. I wouldn't recommend booking here if you want a pleasant stay.
