The Red Maple

The manager, Sukanta Banik, charged us for a broken glass tabletop instead of apologizing or accepting responsibility. He said it wasn't meant to be moved, even though there wasn't room for two people to sit and eat comfortably. It felt like putting a chair with a loose leg in the room and then charging someone for damages after they sat on it. I offered to pay half for the cleaning person, but they insisted on the full amount at checkout. We had no choice unless we wanted to miss our flight. The glass tea table had been left outside the room, with suction cups that had completely melted and glue holding the glass in place. When I tried to move it inside for lunch, the badly glued top fell and shattered. Luckily nobody was hurt, but it could have been a very different story if a child had been in the room.

We brought the family to Red Mashal Hotel, Indore to celebrate my parents' anniversary, and the meal was a huge disappointment. There was usually no waiter around, and items we hadn't received still showed up on the bill, so I had to point out their mistakes. After the starters, we waited nearly 40 minutes for the main course. Nobody communicated with us or seemed concerned about the delay. The poor service and mismanagement ruined a special occasion. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting basic hospitality.

The food was good, and there's plenty of room on the lawn, making it a nice venue for both large and small events. The location is good too. The rooms were okay, though they had a smell of smoke, and the property needs a lot of updating.

An excellent, affordable family destination with good quality food that fits the budget. I don't understand the 18% GST on food services, and I think the GST tax is being misused. Otherwise, it's an excellent place for families.
