Doodle Rack Hostel

Doodle Rack is a really affordable place in Jaipur, with clean rooms and a colorful area full of trendy art. The staff are warm and friendly, and the pet is adorable. Staying here makes me miss Doodle Rack and Jaipur, and whenever I return, I want to stay at Doodle Rack again. Thanks for a wonderful stay. \m/

Arjay, the “manager?”, was a really nice guy who tried to meet our requests, and he’s a great cook. When a friend and I had trouble with an Uber driver and then a tuk tuk driver, he came to our rescue. Thanks, Arjay. But the rest of the stay went downhill. We were 11 backpackers who had travelled from New Delhi, and several of us had problems with other Indian men staying at the hostel. They said they didn’t work there, but seemed to have a lot of influence over daily operations and were overly friendly with female foreign guests. I might have stayed longer, but after my sandals were taken and worn by female Indian guests twice, I’d had enough. One guest took them from under my bed while I slept, then a man with all the hair and glasses blamed me for it. Another friend had his brand new sandals stolen on his last night, the night of a party downstairs for a group of Indian females. The owner was there, and the guests were allowed to use the kitchen, fridge, lounge, bathroom, and even the ensuite in our dorm. That wasn’t what I paid for. Other friends found their food eaten and their beers drunk. Internet was poor, too. One of the “not staff” was making noise outside our dorm windows at 1 am, so I had to tell him to move elsewhere. He knew guests had to get up at 4 to catch their train. Plain ignorant. The place was quite clean, but not well located for food or a convenience store. I don’t recommend it.

It feels like a little home, with really endearing interiors and helpful people. Backpackers from around the world can cook their own meals or order food here. I had a great time meeting new people and sharing in their little journey. When in Japiur, this is the place to go.

In a chaotic city like Jaipur, this place gave us a peaceful stay. We had a 6 bedded dormitory, with clean beds and washrooms. There were books and board-games, a kitchen for cooking if you want, or you can order food from their menu. I also spotted a tent on the lawn outside. It was all really affordable. Definitely recommend it. Honestly, this was the only thing I liked on my visit to Jaipur!
