Govindam Royal Stay

The terrace was a lovely place to unwind, with a panoramic view of the lake, Amer Fort, and the city. There’s also a large garden nearby and a beautiful lake view that made the surroundings feel peaceful. Being close to Govind Dev Ji Temple was very convenient. A memorable, satisfying stay.

There’s no restaurant at Hotel Govindam Royal. They can order food for you from another branch, but because of that I didn’t eat at the hotel. Reaching it took me more than an hour. The hotel isn’t on the main road, and there’s a market along the street. Road work was going on right out front when I arrived, which caused me a lot of trouble. The next day I left my key at reception and asked them to clean the room. When I came back in the evening it was still dirty. The staff said they hadn’t paid attention to my request. I’d booked three nights through agoda some time ago.

We stayed for four days in December 2025, and the room price was far too high for the service we got. Regular cleaning wasn’t done. Towels and bedsheets weren’t changed, and the toilet was left uncleaned. Even after repeated requests, housekeeping would first ask the manager whether the sheets were “dirty enough” to change. When anyone did come to clean, they were often very late and without the tools they needed. We had to explain basic housekeeping tasks to them, and the lack of training was clear. It seemed the whole hotel, apart from the manager, was being run by only two staff members. The rooftop restaurant wasn’t operating and was kept in an extremely unhygienic state. Used plates were left uncleared for too long after meals. We also saw the owner’s father and the manager occasionally holding drinking parties in the entrance lobby. That was highly unprofessional and unethical, and made the place feel unsafe for guests.

We stayed here in December. If you need to be near govind dev ji temple, this might suit you, but otherwise I’d say no. The road is really bad, service is poor, staff aren’t trained, and they behave as if they’re in their own home. Cleanliness is zero, and the surroundings don’t feel touristy at all. There’s a big vegetable market nearby and it’s always crowded. This is my honest review, please don’t stay here.
