The clean, well-kept rooms and consistently friendly, helpful, courteous staff were highlights of our stay at Khandela Haveli from January 1st to 3rd. It is a modern three-story hotel, rather than the traditional heritage Haveli its name might suggest. But a serious health problem after room service overshadowed the good parts and ruined our trip. On January 1st, our snacks arrived quickly and tasted good, though they were a bit cold. The next day we ordered veg cutlets and were told to expect them in 15-20 minutes. After half an hour, we called, and were told it would be another 15 minutes. When they arrived, the garlic taste was overpowering. We later realized there was a significant problem with the ingredients, but at the time we were rushing to meet a friend and couldn't complain right away. Soon after eating, I developed a bad stomach, then vomited the next morning. We travelled back to Delhi the following day, and I'm still suffering from severe food poisoning. It's incredibly disappointing to begin the New Year this way. The hotel team is lovely, but I can't overlook this. I hope management investigates its kitchen standards right away so other guests don't fall ill.

I was here for three nights over New Year and found it quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, and the Mutton Biryani was really tasty.

The staff were courteous and helpful, and they gave us useful tips on places to see in Jaipur. We really enjoyed dinner on the rooftop, which also has a bar and bonfire facilities. The haveli is in Sindhi Colony, Jaipur, and it was very nice, though about 15 minutes by car from the main City Palace. We stayed in mid-December, when nights were 14-16 degrees Celsius. The restaurant serving breakfast is in the basement, and there are three floors, an internal lift to the rooftop, and a swimming pool beside the rooftop restaurant. Our MAP plan still included à la carte vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, soup, and dessert. Cocktails and mocktails cost a bit more and were charged separately. There was no hotel parking, so we left our car outside. Our room was spacious, as I'd requested an extra bed. The double bed was made by joining two singles, rather than being one queen-size bed. The bathroom was clean, well maintained, and roomy enough for a shower. Toiletries included a shaving kit, dental kit, shampoo, soap, and body lotion. The electric geyser worked well, so hot water wasn't a problem, and they also provided an extra heater for the cold winter weather. There was a mini refrigerator in the room with drinks available to buy.

The biggest problem was the hot water. The tank is so small that it takes 30 minutes to recover before the next shower. Rooms are average, and the lack of hot water and cleaning brought my rating down to 2 instead of 3. Breakfast didn't help the rating either. The buffet was limited, and it often wasn't replenished promptly, leading to longer waits. For a boutique hotel, I found the food options poor. The restaurant and bar have a nice room, but service was slow and felt cold, not warm. There's a lot of potential here. I hope management focuses on the small but important things needed to improve the food and service to match the beautiful building.

The calm atmosphere and the food and cocktail choices made my Jaipur visit feel special. I’d happily stay here again, 10/10.
