The historic property has a lot of original character, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to help when a water bottle accidentally broke during the night. We spent two nights at Mahal Khandela in Jaipur, in a very quiet area, and had a pleasant stay. The hotel’s comfort and technical facilities are fairly average. It was generally clean, but small details stood out, like the elevator mirror and floor and some windows around the inner courtyard and breakfast patio. The bathroom worked fine, though its sink was very small by modern standards. The place has a lovely atmosphere and a lot of potential, and a little more attention to detail could make it even better. We could forgive the small imperfections given its character. One thing made us uncomfortable at checkout: we were strongly encouraged to leave a review right away, and staff handled our phones. We’d rather write and post our own reviews in our own time.

We really enjoyed our three nights at Mahal Khandela. The quiet neighborhood and easy access to Jaipur Junction made getting around simple. The haveli has a lovely heritage feel, and the team looked after us warmly throughout our stay. They were polite and welcoming, and even moved us to another room when we ran into a few problems. The rooms are on the small side, though still manageable. It would be helpful if they supplied a basic toiletries kit with a toothbrush and toothpaste. We’d happily come back.
The room was gorgeous, and ours came with a balcony. We were greeted with flowers and tea, which was such a lovely welcome. I also tried room service for the first time and had a great experience. Breakfast was my favorite part. The stay exceeded my expectations.
The neighborhood felt calm and safe, and both dinner and breakfast were a treat. Breakfast had plenty of variety, and we loved the dinner we had there one evening. Our room was spacious and beautifully designed, almost like staying inside a work of art. The staff were attentive and helpful, always ready to do a little extra to make us comfortable. A wonderful stay.
