Sarovar Portico Jaipur

The restaurant was a bright spot. The food was delicious, and the restaurant staff were courteous and attentive. The rest of our stay at Sarovar Portico Jaipur was disappointing, and nowhere near what we’ve experienced at other Sarovar Portico properties. The rooms felt cramped, though that alone would have been manageable. Staff didn’t seem welcoming, and three people we spoke with said they normally worked at other hotels. They couldn’t give us basic information or assistance. The lobby also looked neglected, with an old carpet marked by visible stains and spills that gave a poor impression of hygiene and upkeep. The rooftop pool was the biggest concern. Its hours are listed as 7 AM to 7 PM, but when we went around 8 AM it wasn’t ready. We had to keep calling staff to clean it, and even then the filtration system wasn’t turned on. The pool is small, but the poor maintenance and safety arrangements were the larger problems. Electrical switches and plugs near the pool weren’t waterproof, which seemed extremely dangerous. There were no nearby showers or changing rooms, and the floor had no proper non-slip surface or safety mats. The stairs were slippery, and my child slipped on them. This property doesn’t seem to meet the standards I’d expect from the Sarovar Portico brand, especially for safety, hygiene, and service.

Spacious rooms were the best part of my three-night stay, and they were comfortable enough to make it pleasant. The entrance layout felt awkward and could be more convenient. Food was decent but average, nothing especially memorable. There’s no health club or fitness facility, which could be a downside for some travelers. An okay stay, with a few areas like food and amenities that could be better.

We’ve held many parties at this hotel, and people have praised the food every time. It’s a lovely venue, with a great ambience. The staff are very cooperative, especially General manager Mr Anand, Restaurant Manager Mr Naveen, F and B Manager Mr Rahul, and Chef Mr Aman, whose food is delicious.

I was at this property from 20th Feb 2026 to 23rd Feb 2026 for an official assignment. On checkout, 23rd Feb, I left a written complaint at reception about the disturbances from the night before. But today my office received a concerning call claiming I’d ordered an ice bucket/basket and hadn’t paid. That isn’t true. At about 11:30 PM on 21st Feb, staff called to say I had ordered one. They called again around 11:45 PM with the same claim, and I told them clearly I hadn’t ordered it. The repeated interruptions and false claim show very poor coordination and unprofessional behavior, especially during an official stay. I expect management to investigate thoroughly, resolve this promptly, and prevent it from happening to other guests. A very disappointing experience.
