Hotel Helsinki House

Maru helped us set up a walking tour of the Fort with a knowledgeable, really entertaining guide. He also arranged a desert adventure with a camel ride and a music and dance show. The hotel rooms were spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. We all loved staying at Helsinki House, and I can't recommend it enough to anyone visiting Jaisalmer.

The staff were extremely polite, helpful, and quick to respond, and the food was delicious at both dinner and breakfast. Breakfast is made to order rather than served buffet-style. The rooms were clean, spacious, and beautifully designed, with a heritage-meets-modern feel and a good level of comfort. I had booked two rooms, and one washroom had an odor problem. Staff cleaned it right away both times I reported it, but the smell came back at night. That was the main inconvenience. There is no lift, and the dining area is on the third floor, which could be difficult for older guests or anyone with mobility issues. A lift and a lasting fix for the washroom issue would improve the experience. Apart from that, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it for the comfortable rooms, tasty food, and good service.

We had a luxurious stay, and I'd highly recommend this property. My wife and I found the rooms and bathrooms neat and clean, and the staff were respectful, helpful, and good. The food was fresh and good quality. Jaisalmer Fort and gadisar lake, two major tourist attractions, are reachable in 10-15 mins.

The rooftop restaurant had delicious food and a mesmerizing view of the Jaisalmer Fort, especially at sunset. Maru ji also arranged a rickshaw and a knowledgeable guide for us to visit the Jaisalmer Fort and Patwon ki Haveli from the hotel, and that was smooth and hassle-free. We were a family of four and stayed at Helsinki House in October 2025 for 2 nights and 3 days. Booking had been easy from the start. I'd been in touch with Maru ji, the owner, since August, and he was kind, responsive, and patient with all my questions before we confirmed Helsinki Desert Camp, Sam, and Helsinki House, Jaisalmer. The rooms were clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable for our family. We'd stayed at Helsinki Desert Camp before arriving, and appreciated that both places offered the same high standards of care, comfort, and attention to detail. Our experience with the hotel and desert camp was wonderful. Highly recommended for genuine hospitality, comfort, and memorable experiences in Jaisalmer.
