I’m staying four nights at Hotel Royal Villa Jaisalmer, and it’s been a comfortable, safe choice in the heart of Jaisalmer. The reception was friendly when I arrived, and the rooms are clean with good hot water. The location is handy for walking to local attractions around the township. You can eat in your room with the great room service, or sit in the rooftop restaurant. The chef cooks fresh Rajasthani and North Indian food with lots of flavor and care. Breakfast is fantastic too, especially the aloo pars, the best I’ve had in a while. I’d recommend it to foreign travelers.

The restaurant lets you see the golden Fort while having morning tea, which was good and refreshing. The manager was cordial, friendly, and accommodating. Food was good, though the choices were just standard. The rooms were good enough, but some old bed-sheets could be changed for a better appearance. Room prices rise quite a bit in tourist season and may not match the facilities.

We really enjoyed the desert safari camp and buffet dinner at their desert resort. It was beautifully organized and a great experience for the whole family. Back at the hotel, our room was spacious, tidy, and clean, and we had a very comfortable, relaxing stay. Breakfast had lots of tasty choices. Islam gave us outstanding hospitality, truly 5-star service. Highly recommend for the stay and experiences.
